Alfred William Hawkins served in the Royal Navy throughout WW1. He was on HMS Skirmisher in November 1918 and "acquired" a hand-written account of the allied fleet's entry in the Dardanelles.
Editor's Comment: Able Seaman 235441 Alfred William Hawkins, Royal Navy, born Walworth, London, 18th February 1890. He served on board HMS Dominion from 1914 to 1917 and on HMS Skirmisher in the Dardanelles in 1918. |
