Letter from Leonard Mortimer (Service Number 2525) of A Company, No 1 Platoon, 148th Brigade, 49th Division of the British Expeditionary Force in France, to his parent in Hull. The letter thanks them for a parcel, gives a report of recent casualties in his platoon, and sends messages to other people back at home. The letter begins on a folded sheet of paper, and continues on a postcard. The picture side of the postcard features an image of two soldiers, one British and one Indian, with a hand-coloured flag, and "What do we Care" printed along the bottom.
