Page 6: A shopping list

Owen finishes his letter with a list of things he would like his mother to buy for him and send out to the Front. He ends by reassuring his mother that he is fine and in good health. Earlier on though he states: 'You need not ask where I am. I ahve told you as far as I can.' This is curious. At no point in the letter does Owen give his whereabouts away, as this would present a clear security risk if the letter fell into the hands of the Germans. Or does he?
