Vera Britton's Reaction to the announcement of War (diary)

Source B:When writer Vera Brittain found out that war had officially been declared, she made this entry into her diary entry of August 3rd, 1914: 'Today has been too exciting for me to feel like sleep- in fact it is one of the most thrilling I have lived through, though without doubt there are many more to come- the rumour about Germany having declared and started war are true. That which has been so long anticipated by some and scoffed at by others has come to pass at last. Armagedon in Europe!'
