June 1917 - The family after Percy's funeral
Note on reverse in Walter Powell's hand explains that this was "Taken when Cliff and I came home after Percy's death - compassionate leave". From left to right: Walter Powell (A.S.C.), W.J. Powell (father), Clifford Powell (brother), and Clara Powell (mother). Percy Powell died in June 1917 aged 20, of wounds sustained on active service. The card appears to have been sent in October 1917, it is addressed: "Love from Mum and Dad 28th October 1917".
