A long career

Graves enjoyed a long literary career and, until 1929 and the publication of 'Goodbye to All That', maintained his friendship with Sassoon and other ex-soldier-poets such as Edmund Blunden. Following the memoir's publication, he turned away from the war as a literary subject. He lived for much of the remainder of his life in Spain, where he died in 1985 at the age of 90.
