Author |
Blunden, Edmund (1896-1974)
|
Notes |
Published draft of poem cut out and pasted onto a piece of notebook paper. The number 'II.' has been crossed out with blue ink; this may be a reference to the fact that this poem was initially part of a sequence including 'Illusions' and 'Battalion In Rest' entitled 'Three Scenes from the European War: Flanders, 1914-1918'. In 'Undertones of War' (1928) the sequence was broken up.
