Notes |
Postcards of St Martin Cathedral at Ypres, showing the interior in 1909; the belfry with damage, possibly in 1914; the Halles in 1913; and a view from nearby fields with sheep and shepherd called 'The Field of Love', undated. The book was compiled by Edmund Blunden with the intention of providing complementary photographs supporting the narrative and poems of 'Undertones of War' (1928), and was inscribed 'E.B. New Year, 1935' while Blunden was living in North Oxford, a neighbour of Graham Greene.
