This is an envelope which was originally sent by Ethel Pritchard to her sweetheart Frank Dowdeswell, 7th Batt. Buffs Reg.t, B. E. Force, France - but which has been re-directed to numerous military hospitals in England, including Cheltenham where Ethel and Frank lived. The dates on the postmarks are from August-September 1918.
Ethel and Frank were the parents of Pam Hyett. Part of a collection relating to the service of Frank (7th Buffs) and Bob (Army Service Corps) Dowdeswell, of Shaw Green, Prestbury, nr Cheltenham. Bob died in April 1917 after a lorry accident. |
