Notes |
Photograph of a substantial gathering taking place in a grassy area by a large building. Most of the people present are men in naval dress (including some in what appear to be American uniforms), but there are also some women in formal civilian clothing and a few children. Several flags are visible, plus one end of what appears to be a tent or marquee. Part of a collection relating to Frank Harold Elletson, Royal Marine Artillery. Date uncertain, but the collection is described as including: "Diary [photo scrapbook] of HMS Queen Elizabeth, January to May 1915, plus photographs c. 1918".
