|
Notes |
Undated photos of groups of officers taken during the Great War. In the first Col Cranston is front centre in the uniform of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, in the second he is pictured front centre with a Machine Gun Corps badge, and in the third front, 4th from right with an East Lancashire Regiment badge.
Editor's Comment: The first photograph is of the officers of the 13th Bn. King's Liverpool Regiment, the second of the officers of a Machine Gun Corps Battalion (probably the 3rd), the third of the officers of a Divisional Headquaters taken after the war (Note War and Victory medal ribbons). Second Lieutenant (acting Lieutenant Colonel) William James Cranston DSO, Royal Scots Fusiliers and Staff, served additionally in the North Staffordshire Regiment and commanded the 13th Bn. King's Liverpool Regiment and 3rd Bn. Machine Gun Corps. |
