Letter from the Ministry of Pensions to the widow of Willam Moon, regarding the payment of her Widow's Pension. Mrs. Moon had six children (one posthumous, born in January 1918: her husband died in October, 1917). The eldest girl, Lilian, left school and went to work to help support her siblings.
Editor's Comment: Airman 1st Class 18772 William Ernest Moon, Royal Flying Corps, Egyptian Expeditionary Force, died on 11th October 1917, and is buried in Alexandrian (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetary. |
