Postcard Front: L'Hotel des Ionvalides, Paris ('the seat of the military headquarters'?).
The reverse is hand-written from a grateful French patient (signed 'Balles'?), addressed to my grandfather Dr E Bertram Smith reverse: from to Dr Smith (who served with the Friends' Ambulance Unit, but was seconded to the Red Cross at the Queen Alexandra hospital, Malo-les-Bains, Dunkirk). Posted in Malo-les-Bains. Post marked in Sept and Oct 1918, but also in 1916. |
