Robert Simpson was a Private in the 7th Battalion Royal Scots (No. 30021). He dies in action on the 24th November 1917 and is commemorated on the Jerusalam Memorial. Robert is photographed here (seated) with a friend, Josh Kirk. Josh survived the conflict and became a hairdresser on Henderson Street, Leith, Scotland.
