Notes |
Ernest Sewell (known as Fred) served in the Royal Engineers and survived the war - he is the soldier at the front of the photograph wearing a scarf - I do not know the names of the other soldiers. Ernest Frederick Sewell was born in Middleton Cheney 1886-1960. He lived and died in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
Editor's Comment: Photograph taken at the front in 1914 or 1915, as Service Dress Caps are worn. Note also the Wellington Boots, Cap Comforters, and scarf. Sapper 191686 Ernest Frederick Sewell, Royal Engineers |
