Pte. George Dickson was in the King's Own Scottish Borderers, conscripted on 29.9.1916. Service number 26949. George is pictured with his wife Jane Manderson Watt. George served in France and was awarded the War and Victory medals for his service.
They lived in Galashiels, Selkirkshire and they had 5 children, one of whom died at birth in 1920 (William Alexander) after the war. Their surviving children were John, Adam (Addie), George (Dod) and James (Jimmy). Pte George Dickson was a painter both before and after the Great War. |
