This is a silk embroidered pouch that was sent by Pte David Murie, to his mother Fanny Murie, who lived in Bonhill, Dunbartonshire.
Editor's Comment: Silk with personal message and embroidered Royal Coat of Arms, with caption 'Souvenir from France'. Pte. 200257 David Murie, 'B' Bn. Tank Corps, was killed 23rd November 1917 and is commemorated on the Cambrai memorial. He originally served in the Royal Field Artillery (service no. 1093). |
