Editor's Comment:
Charles Hourston in the uniform of a corporal, with an 'Imperial Service' badge on his right breast indicating that he is a member of the Territorial Force and has volunteered for overseas service. The 'G' in wreath on his lower left sleeve stands for 'Gunner', and was a mark of proficiency. Corporal (later sergeant) 368247 Charles Hourston, Royal Garrison Artillery. |
