with 2/5TH BATTALION GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT
England
Havre
Small village – Le Sart. (billeted 2 – 3 days) May 28th 1915
Riez Bailleul – 1 mile East of La Gorgue. – Trenches.
June 10th – Battalion moved to Laventie. – In reserve there, found rations
and working parties etc.
July 6th – Moved to Richebourg – St Vaast
Robecq Oct 27th 1916
Albert
Gapennes
Feb 27th 1917 to L’ Etoile
Wiencourt (15 miles SE of Amiens)
Easter Day8th April 1917 - Rest at Vermand
Then training at Tetry, Canizy and Germaine. Then to Fayet, 2 miles NW of St
Quentin.
Arras
July 1917 Buire au Bois – pretty village – Dad in photo. “Haven of rest.”
Ypres.
Buysheure
Waton
Pond Farm – Dad wounded by machine gun bullets in leg.
