Notes |
This is the official welcome home message from the King to all who had been Prisoners of War.
Understandably, perhaps, he has forgotten that he had sent a message of sympathy on the death of the soldier a few months earlier. Editor's Comment: Pte. 316448 Leonard E. Green, 1/5th Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers, was reported Missing in Action on 23rd March 1918 and officially declared dead, twice, before his status as a Prisoner of War was confirmed. |
