Editor's Comment: 'This paper is to be destroyed before ZERO hour and is on no account to be carried on the person of any officer or man taking part in the attack'. Probably issued on the commencement of the final assault on the Hindenburg Line. Second Lieutenant (acting Lieutenant Colonel) William James Cranston DSO, Royal Scots Fusiliers and Staff, served additionally in the North Staffordshire Regiment and commanded the 13th Bn. King's Liverpool Regiment and 3rd Bn. Machine Gun Corps. |
