This is my Great Grandfather, Wharton Rye Collinge who died from gas in the Great War. I am very fortunate to have all his battlefield and other documents.
Editor's Comment: Lieutenant Wharton Rye Collinge, 2nd/6th (Rifle) Bn. The King's (Liverpool Regiment), died of gas poisoning 7th August 1917 and is buried in Merville Communal Cemetery. |
