Loading the camera into the plane for a reconnaissance mission in France. My great-grandfather, WG Dundas of 82nd squadron, is holding the camera.
Editor's Comment: Lt William George Dundas, No. 82 Squadron, Royal Air Force. The Squadron was formed at Doncaster, 7th January 1917, and served from November 1917 as an army co-operation unit, flying the Armstrong Whitworth FK8. This photograph taken prior to his promotion, in the uniform of an OR. |
