This letter was sent to my grandmother by one of the partners of the solicitor's firm where my father worked before signing up. I have no information of his having been missing, but he was in the 1/22nd Battalion of the 47th (London) Division, and in France at the time. I think the letter shows that the young men who were at the front were not forgotten at home, even if their jobs were not held open until they returned.
