Photograph of the grave of James Ernest Warwick before the erection of the traditional white headstone. James was my great-grandfather's brother “ he served with the 18th Btn. King's Royal Rifle Regiment and was killed in action on 15th June 1917.
Editor's Comment: Rifleman R/32575 James Warwick, aged 35, was mortally wounded during the battle of Messines serving with the 18th (Arts and Crafts) Bn., Kings Royal Rifle Corps, 122 Bde., 41st division. Buried XIV. F. 10, Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery (created by Casualty Clearing Stations). |
