A notebook with diary entries and drafts of letters.
Pte. 267220 John Dawson, 1/7th Bn. Royal Warwickshire Regiment, was killed in action 14th August 1917 aged 22. The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dawson, of Cockhill Place, Bellshill, Lanarkshire, he is buried in New Irish Farm Cemetery. The 1/7th Bn., part of the 48th (South Midland) Division, were waiting to for heavy rain to clear for the attack on Langemarck to commence, the second phase of the Third Battle of Ypres. |
