My grandfather was Born on the 3rd Sept. 1892 in Hull, Yorkshire. He died in Hull on the 24th March 1974. He was my mother's father. He worked as a stonemason. The Diary was first used in connection with his work, but he took it with him when he went to France. He was a batman for an officer.
Editor's Comment: 'The Kings Own Diary for 1917. | Containing Coupon for £1000 Accident Insurance'. Diary notes the crash and death of a Lt. Harding, and the end of the war. Also brief outline of service history and addresses. 51702 Herbert Wilson served in 19 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps. |
