SS Sardomen

The following letter was written to the Secretary by the Italian Consul in Ireland:- “Sir, I am informed by your Agent in Berehaven, Mr Patrick Harrington, that the hospital and doctors’ expenses (£19 11s 9d) for the two sailors therein recovered from the ss Sardomen have been sustained by your Society. I am reporting the fact to His Majesty’s Government in Rome, and, in the meanwhile, I beg to tender my most sincere thanks for this act of friendly generosity towards Italy.”
