Carr, Charles Woodward; Cole, Reg

Notes |
Sergeant Reg Cole (left), and his cousin Sergeant Charles W. Carr (right). Both served with the Gloucestershire Regiment, and both have a wound stripe.
Part of large collection of photos and memoribilia relating to Serjeant 3091 (later 240965) Charles Woodward Carr, 2/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment - kept by Mrs Gill Porter and Mr Tony Carr of their father. Editor's Comment: As both men wear a Wound Stripe, this photograph must have been taken after August 1916 (the date of the introduction of this badge). The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, however, records Private 1844 Reginald William Cole as having been killed on 12th May 1915. |
