Notes |
During the Great War my grandfather Eugène Ackx was a courier for the British Information Service (BIS) in Rotterdam. He carried documents between Belgium and Holland and one day when attempting to illegally cross the border he was arrested. Fortunately he managed to escape. The attached file gives some information of his recruitment and the account of his arrest and escape.
