A very large mine exploding. This is the detonation at 7.20am on 1st July of 40,000 lbs of ammonal laid by 252 Tunnelling Company, Royal Engineers, under the German position at Haworth Redoubt before Beaumont Hamel, filmed from 'Jacob's ladder' immediately opposite.
